Schedule for College Football Playoff Ranking Releases in the 2024 Season
As the college football season approaches, which is just under two weeks away, the release dates for the eagerly awaited College Football Playoff rankings have been announced.
The College Football Playoff Selection Committee shared on Thursday the schedule for this season’s rankings during their meeting in Southern California.
The first set of rankings will be revealed on Tuesday, Nov. 5, coinciding with Election Day in the U.S. and Week 11 of the 2024 season. The rankings will be updated over the following four and a half weeks, culminating in the unveiling of the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff on Dec. 8. Additionally, the committee confirmed that, with the five highest-ranked conference champions securing automatic playoff berths — and the top four receiving first-round byes — conference titles will no longer serve as tiebreakers in the selection process.
