The 2024 Major League Baseball season is wrapping up its final week, and the wild-card races in both leagues are approaching their climax.
The Baltimore Orioles are poised to secure the top wild-card position in the American League. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Royals, Minnesota Twins, Detroit Tigers, and Seattle Mariners are all vying closely for the second and third wild-card spots, separated by just two games. In the National League, the Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Mets, and Atlanta Braves are only three games apart for the final two positions.
“We’re having a fantastic time,” remarked Tigers All-Star outfielder Riley Greene about experiencing his first pennant race. “This has probably been the most enjoyable time I’ve had playing baseball.”
