The 2024 NASCAR Championship Race: Two Drivers Secured Their Spots
The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race is nearing, with two drivers already confirmed for the event.
Joey Logano, who triumphed in the first race of the third round of the playoffs a fortnight ago at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, along with Tyler Reddick, who secured victory last weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, have both earned their places in the championship race. The remaining two spots will be filled this Sunday at Martinsville Speedway.
During the Martinsville event, if any of the other six playoff contenders wins Sunday’s Xfinity 500, that driver will join Logano and Reddick in the Championship 4. The final position will be determined by playoff standings.
The standings will determine which drivers qualify, with the one accumulating the most points securing the final spot. However, if a driver outside the playoffs or either Logano or Reddick wins on Sunday, then both remaining championship spots will be decided based on points.
On Sunday, November 10, at Phoenix Raceway, the Championship 4 drivers will compete against all other participants. The driver from this group who finishes best will be named the champion of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series.
Joey Logano and Tyler Reddick are set to compete for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series championship, joining two other drivers whose identities will be confirmed later.
Who Will Compete in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Championship?
Joey Logano from Team Penske and Tyler Reddick from 23XI Racing have secured their spots in the Championship 4. The identity of the remaining two challengers will be revealed this Sunday at Martinsville Speedway.
Logano has previously claimed Cup Series titles in both 2018 and 2022. Meanwhile, Reddick is aiming to earn his inaugural Cup championship.
These are the six other drivers competing for the NASCAR Cup Series championship, ranked by their points tallied over eight races. If any of them wins the upcoming race at Martinsville, they will secure a spot in the NASCAR Championship Race. If none of them emerges victorious, the last two championship spots will be allocated based on points following the race at Martinsville.
