2024 Presidents Cup: Results from Round 2 on Friday; Tee times for Round 3 on Saturday
(This article has been updated with additional information)
The 2024 Presidents Cup is in full swing, with the United States securing a strong lead by winning all five matches during Thursday’s Round 1 four-ball session. The International team, facing the tough challenge of coming back against such favored opponents, managed to make the competition more compelling during Friday’s Round 2, which featured foursomes.
The players from both the U.S. and International teams alternated shots across the five matches held on Friday at The Royal Montreal Club.
U.S. captain Jim Furyk partnered Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay, who are a well-known Ryder Cup duo, for this round. Max Homa and Brian Harmon also took to the course together for their 2024 Presidents Cup debut, having performed well together at last year’s Ryder Cup, after being left out of Round 1. Meanwhile, International captain Mike Weir made a surprising decision to sit Tom Kim, who is one of three top-25 ranked golfers on his team, following Kim’s defeat to Scottie Scheffler on Thursday.
Despite the Americans holding a commanding 5-0 lead after Round 1, the International team fought back to level the competition ahead of a thrilling weekend of action.
