Understanding the NFL Playoff Bracket
The NFL playoff bracket is flexible and differs from the fixed formats found in other sports leagues. This means player seedings are crucial for determining matchups. The No. 1 seeded teams, the Chiefs and Lions, will play against the lowest-seeded team remaining in their respective conference during the divisional round.
Kansas City and Detroit will enjoy home-field advantage throughout their side of the bracket as long as they stay in the playoffs. If one of them gets eliminated, the highest-seeded remaining team will take over the home-field advantage.
The dynamic nature of the NFL bracket means that the results of the regular season significantly impact postseason matchups.
