Frontier Airlines Introduces Upgraded First-Class-Style Seating
Frontier Airlines is set to make significant updates, including the introduction of spacious first-class-style seats on its aircraft, starting in 2025.
“Travelers should have higher expectations, and starting in 2025, Frontier will rise to the occasion as we continue to evolve into the most rewarding airline available,” said Barry Biffle, CEO of Frontier Airlines. “We’ve heard our customers and they desire more—such as premium options like first-class seating, easier seat upgrades, additional complimentary travel for friends, and ways to use miles for more than just airfares. These enhancements mark an exciting milestone in our journey toward The New Frontier.”
Passengers can anticipate various updates, from first-class seating to enhanced frequent flyer benefits.
Frontier’s New First-Class Seating
Frontier Airlines is enhancing its cabin experience by adding luxurious first-class-style seats in the initial two rows.
These new seats will resemble the Big Front Seats offered by Spirit Airlines, characterized by a recliner style and more legroom.
While specific amenities related to these first-class seats are yet to be disclosed, airlines generally provide passengers with perks such as priority boarding and complimentary or upgraded snack and beverage service when they opt for larger seating.
The new seats are expected to be available for purchase starting in late 2025.
Updates to Frequent Flyer Program
Frontier has also unveiled two significant updates to its frequent flyer program: free seating upgrades and unlimited complimentary companion travel for select elite members.
Upgrades will depend on availability and will include UpFront Plus seating (where the middle seat is kept vacant) and the new First-Class seating once it’s available on flights. Members of the loyalty program who reach Gold status and above will qualify for these upgrades.
Moreover, for those with Platinum and Diamond statuses, Frontier plans to offer unlimited complimentary companion travel starting mid-2025. This benefit permits elite frequent flyers to take one additional passenger at no extra fare, provided they pay any required taxes and fees.
Starting in 2025, Frontier will also introduce more flexibility in using miles for purchases. Members will be able to redeem miles for fare bundles and individual ancillary services, such as checked baggage and various add-ons, starting mid-year.
