Charges against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ alleged drug mule dismissed
A lawyer has reported that the case against an alleged drug mule for the controversial music producer Sean “Diddy” Combs has been dismissed.
Brendan Paul, 25, faced accusations of transporting various drugs for Combs, including GHB, often associated with date-rape incidents. Earlier this year, he was arrested at a Miami airport for allegedly carrying cocaine and marijuana-infused candy.
According to Paul’s attorney, Brian H. Bieber, he confirmed to YSL News on Wednesday that the case, which had been modified to include only a charge of felony cocaine possession, has been completely dropped. Bieber noted that Paul has successfully finished a pre-trial diversion program, which is typical for first-time offenders.
YSL News has reached out to the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s office for additional comments.
Paul, a former Syracuse basketball player, is named in a civil lawsuit filed by music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones Jr., alleging that he facilitated drug transportation for Combs and helped arrange payments for sex workers hired by the rapper.
Jones collaborated with Combs on the recent project “The Love Album: Off the Grid” and has made serious allegations against the musician, including sexual assault and running a sex trafficking ring with various associates.
In this civil suit, Paul is characterized as a “mule” responsible for transporting drugs and carrying Combs’ firearm during outings. The extensive lawsuit also includes accusations against other celebrities, such as Cuba Gooding Jr., who is alleged to have assaulted Jones, and Yung Miami, who is suggested to have transported drugs and acted as a sex worker for Combs.
Paul’s arrest coincided with a raid by Homeland Security agents at Combs’ residences in Miami and Los Angeles, part of a broader federal investigation into the rapper. At that time, multiple lawsuits had already been filed in New York, accusing Combs of rape.
As Combs faces a serious and mounting legal crisis with a slew of civil lawsuits alleging rape, this case’s dismissal occurs amidst his own turbulent circumstances. Numerous accusers, including minors, have surfaced, claiming they were drugged and assaulted, revealing what appears to be a long history of abuse and resulting in the unraveling of Combs’ career and legacy. Combs has made it clear that he denies all accusations against him.
“These allegations are baseless. We are determined to prove them false and will pursue sanctions against every unethical lawyer involved in filing these fabricated claims,” stated Combs’ legal team following the filing of three additional lawsuits last Friday.
