Nick Jonas Faces Online Criticism After Apparent Endorsement of Elon Musk: ‘Take This Down’

Nick Jonas Faces Online Criticism for Appearing to Back Elon Musk: ‘Delete This’

Nick Jonas has ignited social media discussions, but not in a positive way.

The singer and member of the Jonas Brothers caught flak on Tuesday after appearing to endorse the contentious figure of Elon Musk through a social media remark.

This situation arose when Musk reacted to a post on X, claiming the company had strong financial results, contrary to earlier predictions of downturns for Tesla and its clean energy products. The post stated, “Tesla is up 100% since Donald Trump won!”

Musk replied, “My, how the tables have turned! 😂,” accompanied by a GIF featuring the Jonas Brothers lifting and turning a table in an unspecified room.

Jonas then retweeted Musk’s shoutout, adding, “Take us to the Year 3000,” referencing a popular Jonas Brothers song from 2007.

Though some users appreciated the interaction, many fans were displeased.

Musk, who is also the owner of X, has generated controversy recently over his support for President-elect Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, including his role as co-head of Trump’s planned Department of Government Efficiency and a personal contribution exceeding a quarter-billion dollars to committees backing Trump.

“Tweeting at Elon Musk is certainly a choice,” commented X user @oceansjonas.

YSL News has contacted representatives for Jonas to request a comment.

Fans Criticize Nick Jonas for His Elon Musk Post

Many users took to the comments to express their discontent with Jonas’ post, suspecting he might be a supporter of Musk and Trump.

“Is this a Trump endorsement?! @priyankachopra, you need to talk to your man,” wrote @super_spooks, referring to Jonas’ wife, actress Priyanka Chopra.

While Jonas’ political ties during the recent presidential election remain unclear, he did show support for President Joe Biden on social media after Biden’s victory in 2020.

No matter the intention behind Jonas’ post on Tuesday, his reference to Musk did not resonate well with fans.

“Delete this. Now. This man is terrible, and even if it was a joke, it’s not amusing,” @ktcontratto stated.

“You’re showing support for Elon right before heading to Broadway?! Really poor timing,” wrote @ItsJoshCanfield (Jonas is scheduled to appear in a 2025 Broadway production of “The Last Five Years”). “The Broadway community consists of many individuals Elon and his MAGA associates are attempting to silence. I auditioned to understudy you, and I’m so glad I didn’t get the part.”

“He’ll take us 3000 years backwards,” @mrbombastic2401 commented. “Just look at the people he supports; do better, Nick.”
