What is the value of every NBA team in 2024? Warriors, Knicks, and Lakers on top: Report

Being an NBA team owner is quite profitable nowadays.

The latest report shows that the average NBA franchise value has nearly doubled compared to four years ago. This increase is influenced by the new collective bargaining agreement and media rights deals starting to take effect.

This year, the Golden State Warriors lead the pack as the highest-valued NBA team, at $9.14 billion, according to the annual valuation from Sportico. Following closely are the New York Knicks at $8.3 billion, and the Los Angeles Lakers at $8.07 billion. The Lakers hold a significant $2.3 billion advantage over the Brooklyn Nets, which are valued at $5.7 billion. Sportico highlights that only the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL are valued higher than the Warriors among all American professional sports teams.

The Memphis Grizzlies sit at the lowest end of the scale, with a value of $3.06 billion. However, this is a remarkable 127% increase from the lowest valued NBA team four years ago. Across the league, all teams experienced at least a 9% rise in value for 2024, with the Nets, Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Milwaukee Bucks seeing the most substantial gains. On average, NBA team values jumped by 15% since last year.

Last year, Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia made headlines by purchasing the Suns for around $4 billion, setting a league record.
