Selenoproteins: The Key to Unlocking Eternal Youth?

Researchers find that certain antioxidant enzymes, called selenoproteins, significantly contribute to fighting cell aging. The team used a gene knockout mouse model to help them study the effects of disrupting selenoprotein synthesis. This knockout negatively impacted hematopoietic stem cells and B cell-lineage immune cells, which was driven by the lack of selenoprotein-mediated fighting of lipid

Lamar Jackson Sets New NFL Benchmark, Surpassing Michael Vick’s Quarterback Rushing Yards Record

Lamar Jackson surpasses Michael Vick’s NFL record for quarterback rushing yards

Lamar Jackson has officially become the NFL’s leading quarterback in rushing yardage.

During a 31-2 victory over the Houston Texans on Wednesday, the Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback edged past Michael Vick’s previous record of 6,109 career rushing yards for quarterbacks. Remarkably, Jackson achieved this milestone in 41 fewer games than Vick—102 compared to Vick’s 143.

The record-breaking moment occurred on a 6-yard run in the third quarter. He concluded the game with a total of 87 rushing yards on four carries, which included a stunning 48-yard touchdown run.

This two-time NFL MVP, who is vying for a third title this season, mentioned prior to the season starting that breaking this record wasn’t his main focus.

“My main aim is winning a Super Bowl,” Jackson stated on “The Lounge” podcast. “If the record comes along with it, that’s fine. But it’s not my primary objective. I will certainly appreciate it if it happens, and I hope it lasts for a long time without being broken, but the focus is on the Super Bowl.”

After the match, Jackson expressed how “thankful” he was to break the record held by “one of my all-time favorite players.”
