The traditional Tournament of Roses Parade returns to celebrate the arrival of 2025 on Wednesday.
This marks the 136th parade, themed “Best Day Ever!”, as it makes its festive 5.5-mile journey through Pasadena, California, showcasing elaborate floats adorned with flowers and lively marching bands from around the nation.
Billie Jean King, a legendary sports figure and advocate for equality, will serve as the Grand Marshal. The event will also include performances by Canadian artist Kiesza, artist Aloe Blacc, emerging country musician Timothy Wayne, and the group Chapel Hart, among others.
Pop star Debbie Gibson, singer-songwriter Betty Who, along with students and alumni from the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, will wrap up the day with a spectacular finale. Debbie Allen will ride a float celebrating her academy’s 25th anniversary.
This year’s parade will showcase a wide range of floats, including those from the Illinois Office of Tourism, Pasadena Humane, the San Diego Zoo, the Sierra Madre Rose Float Association, the U.S. Army, and CORE Kidney, among many others.
“Since 1890, Rose Parade floats have brought unique themes and stories to life through exquisite floral designs,” the Rose Parade stated in a news release. “Each float narrates a distinct story through stunning designs and vibrant displays, embodying themes of hope, innovation, kindness, and service.”
