Ariana Grande Celebrates Rising Star Award at 31 with a Nod to Her ‘Friends’ Botox and Juvéderm

Ariana Grande expresses gratitude towards ‘friends’ Botox and Juvéderm for rising star award at 31

Ariana Grande was honored with the rising star award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, humorously commenting that she owes her success to her “two friends Botox and Juvéderm.”

<p”I’ve been performing since I was a child, so I never expected to hear the words ‘rising star’ at 31,” Grande shared. “I thought I might be called ‘slightly withering star’ or ‘drooping star’ by now.”

Later conversing with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet, she noted that she hasn’t used Botox or fillers in four years but remains open about discussing them in the future.

“As the founder of r.e.m. beauty, I believe in being transparent,” Grande explained to ET. “I love these treatments and support them. But it’s been four years since I last used them. Do you see these lines? I embrace them.”

“American Pie” and “White Lotus” star Jennifer Coolidge was the one to present Grande with the award, joking that while Grande appears young, she might actually be quite ancient, “maybe 90, who knows,” but has exceptional skin.

“Hasn’t Ariana Grande already risen?” Coolidge remarked about the Grammy-winning artist, who first became famous through Disney. “She’s only in her 30s but has felt famous since the Eisenhower era.”

This isn’t the first time Grande has opened up about her cosmetic procedures and the scrutiny surrounding her looks. In a lie detector test for Vanity Fair with her “Wicked” co-star Cynthia Erivo, Grande was asked whether she felt pressured to get work done for popularity.

“This is the best day of my life,” Grande enthusiastically clarified that she has only had Botox and fillers, mentioning she is “open” to considering a facelift. “Take that, YouTube critics!”

Ariana Grande acknowledges her ‘Wicked’ role and director Jon Chu during her speech

In a jovial spirit, Grande entertained the audience while Coolidge presented her award, playfully pretending to stumble under the weight of the large trophy.

She began her speech by expressing her gratitude to Coolidge, whom she has humorously mimicked on various platforms, including Saturday Night Live and talk shows. Coolidge has credited Grande with helping her career regain momentum, highlighting her iconic roles in “Legally Blonde” and the more recent “White Lotus.” In 2019, Grande showcased Coolidge in her music video “thank u, next.”

“Your talent and comedic brilliance have always inspired me,” Grande told Coolidge from the stage.

Grande also thanked “Wicked” director Jon M. Chu, calling him “our incredible fearless leader,” and expressed that the award is a celebration for both herself and her character, Glinda.

“I realized early on that laughter is one of the best escapes, and I remember how it positively affected not just those around me but also myself. Over the last decade, while focused solely on my music, I truly missed this feeling,” she reflected.

“While Glinda the Good is filled with lighthearted humor and clever punchlines, comedy serves as another way of conveying the truth. She possesses an extraordinary talent for finding joy amidst darkness and lightening the mood wherever she goes, even in times of struggle.”
