When is Zay Flowers expected to return? Latest update on Ravens wide receiver’s injury ahead of the wild card matchup
The Baltimore Ravens are entering the NFL playoffs on a high note, having won their last four games. As the champions of the AFC North, they will kick off their postseason against the Pittsburgh Steelers, facing off for the third time this season.
Unfortunately, it looks like the Ravens may be without their leading wide receiver, Zay Flowers, for the game against the Steelers.
The second-year receiver topped the team in both receptions and receiving yards but sustained a leg injury during the second quarter of Baltimore’s last regular season game against the Cleveland Browns.
After being assisted by medical staff, Flowers was able to walk off the field on his own and went to the locker room, but he didn’t return to the game.
His status for the wild card playoffs remains uncertain. Here’s the latest on his situation:
Update on Zay Flowers’ Injury
According to the team’s injury report, Flowers did not participate in practice on Tuesday and was absent from practice again on Wednesday.
The Ravens are set for one final practice session on Thursday before their game against Pittsburgh on Saturday night.
This season, Flowers has been a key contributor to the Ravens’ offense, achieving his first career 1,000-yard receiving season and leading the team in first downs with 48.
Following the Ravens’ victory over Cleveland, head coach John Harbaugh mentioned that Flowers would undergo an MRI on Sunday morning after the game. On Monday, Harbaugh confirmed that the injury wouldn’t end Flowers’ season.
“It’s a day-to-day situation,” Harbaugh stated. “We will do everything we can to help him return as soon as possible, and we’ll see how it develops.”
