YSL News’s 50 Top Picks for CES 2025
What happens in Vegas doesn’t just stay in Vegas, especially when it involves technology.
You didn’t have to be present at the CES 2025 tech convention in Las Vegas to learn about the latest and greatest gadgets on the horizon — we’ve compiled all the essentials for you right here.
With over 140,000 attendees exploring nearly 2.5 million square feet of exhibit space, the event showcased everything from wearable tech and voice-activated smart home devices to massive televisions and portable projectors, as well as self-driving cars and passenger drones.
One of the standout themes this year was the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across many products.
For our YSL News awards selection, we aimed to highlight remarkable products across various categories. Our choices were often influenced by hands-on demonstrations, even when these were just prototypes. In some cases, we didn’t get the chance to test out products, such as a flying car or a versatile gardening robot. Yet, their concepts were so innovative and intriguing that we could easily envision using them in the near future.
Here’s a roundup of our top 50 selections from CES 2025.
Home theater
LG SIGNATURE OLED T
After previewing this TV last year, LG Electronics officially introduced the 77-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED T — the first of its kind to be both transparent and truly wireless with 4K resolution — and announced availability in December 2024. When switched off, it seamlessly integrates into your room’s decor, and when powered on, you can choose for it to be opaque like a conventional TV or to display animated visuals, like virtual fish swimming in a tank. Its wireless design allows for components such as cable boxes or gaming consoles to be connected to a separate “Zero Connect Box.”
Samsung Neo QLED 8K TV
Although Samsung’s “stretchable” TV concept impressed many at CES, it is unlikely to come to fruition. Instead, the Samsung QN990F and QN900F, both described as “ultra-premium” 8K TVs (7680 × 4320 pixels), boast Samsung’s comprehensive “Vision AI” suite, including smart upscaling that enhances HD or 4K content to nearly 8K quality. These Neo QLED TVs excel in dimly lit environments and support Samsung’s Wireless One Connect Box, which can deliver 8K resolution content (up to a 120Hz refresh rate) and audio wirelessly up to 33 feet away, even through obstacles. Other exciting features include Wi-Fi 7 for ultra-fast Tizen OS-powered Smart TV functionality and access to the Samsung Art Store, transforming your TV into an art exhibit with works from renowned institutions like The MoMA and Musée d’Orsay when not in use for entertainment.

Whether you’re delivering a presentation in the office or watching movies in your bedroom, you can easily project content from your phone without needing Wi-Fi, or use a wireless HDMI dongle connected to your media source. The touch controls on top make it easy to power on and adjust the projection settings. Plus, integrated stereo speakers help create a surround sound experience.
