Bad Bunny surprises subway riders with unexpected performance in NYC: Watch
Commuters on the New York City subway were recently surprised by a secret concert from Bad Bunny.
The 30-year-old rapper teamed up with Jimmy Fallon for a segment on “The Tonight Show,” performing undercover at a subway station in New York.
Bad Bunny and Fallon disguised themselves with fake beards, wigs, and sunglasses while singing the Backstreet Boys’ hit “I Want It That Way.” As crowds began to gather, the duo dramatically revealed their identities, much to the fans’ delight.
Following this, Bad Bunny performed his own track “NUEVAYoL,” with Fallon energetically playing the tambourine. Videos from the impromptu performance quickly circulated on social media before the full sketch aired on the show.
“Subway Busking” is a regular skit on Fallon’s show, featuring various artists including Green Day, Maroon 5, Miley Cyrus, and Alanis Morissette.
Currently, Bad Bunny is promoting his new album “Debà Tirar Más Fotos,” which was released earlier this month. During his interview with Fallon on Monday, he shared that the album’s title, translating to “I Should Have Taken More Photos,” reflects his realization of the importance of cherishing the present moment and appreciating the people around him.
On Monday, Bad Bunny also announced his first concert residency called “No Me Quiero Ir De AquÃ,” which will kick off on July 11 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan.
“Thanks to music and the love you show me through my songs, I’ve been lucky enough to perform in various places around the world. I am grateful and love doing it,” he stated in Spanish while sharing the details of the residency.
“There are definitely places I will return to, like Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, and Colombia. I also want to visit new places like Brazil and Japan. Plus, there are countries I haven’t been to in ages, such as Italy, London, and Spain — I promise to announce my tour dates before the year ends. But for now, I’m enjoying my time in Puerto Rico, which is home, and honestly, I don’t want to leave.”
