What’s next for the Rams? A look at the offseason plans for Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Rams have concluded their season following their loss in the divisional round.

Matthew Stafford and his team put up a tough fight but ultimately fell 28-22 to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

After clinching the NFC West title, the Rams advanced past the Minnesota Vikings to reach the divisional round, only to be outperformed by the Eagles in Philadelphia.

So, what’s on the horizon for the Rams as they enter the offseason? YSL News Sports examines what lies ahead for the Rams in 2025:

Key Rams Free Agents

Alaric Jackson

Jackson faced three sacks and 22 pressures over 893 snaps at left tackle, according to Pro Football Focus. His return in Week 3 significantly bolstered the Rams’ offensive line.

Demarcus Robinson

Robinson had one of the best seasons of his career in 2024, achieving personal bests with 505 receiving yards and seven touchdown catches. He was Los Angeles’ second receiving option when Puka Nacua or Cooper Kupp were unavailable.

Bobby Brown III

Brown played a crucial role in the Rams’ revitalized defensive line, starting 16 out of 17 games and recording a career-high of 44 tackles along with four tackles for loss.

Offseason Moves for the Rams

Strengthening the Offensive Line

As the season moved along, the Rams’ offensive line showed improvement. Both Jackson and Joseph Noteboom are set to enter free agency, and Los Angeles now ranks 20th in pass-blocking success.

The Rams might consider tackle prospects like Will Campbell from LSU, Kelvin Banks from Texas, Earnest Greene from Georgia, or Josh Conerly from Oregon.

Enhancing Wide Receiver Depth

Injuries plagued both Nacua and Kupp this season, with Kupp missing five or more games for three consecutive seasons. Robinson’s status as a pending free agent means the Rams must seek additional depth at wide receiver.

At 31, Kupp’s future is uncertain. The Rams might look for a hidden gem in the draft similar to Nacua. However, the 2025 draft class isn’t particularly rich in wide receivers.

Darius Slayton, another potential addition, is also approaching free agency and is likely to attract interest from various teams.

Addressing the Interior Linebacker Position

The Rams struggled against the run, finishing 22nd in the league, largely due to weaknesses at interior linebacker. Christian Rozeboom, the team’s leading tackler, is set to become a free agent.

Projected top three-round picks Jihaad Campbell and Deonte Lawson from Alabama could provide a boost. A rookie linebacker would align well with the Rams’ young and developing defense, alongside OLB Jared Verse and DL Braden Fiske.

Rams’ Draft Priorities

As the Rams navigate free agency before the draft, there are specific needs they should aim to address in April:

  • Linebacker
  • Offensive line
  • Wide receiver

Currently, the Rams possess six draft picks for the 2025 NFL draft:

  • Round 1
  • Round 3
  • Round 4
  • Round 6
  • Round 6 (from ATL)
  • Round 6 (from HOU or PIT)
