Sophisticated Simplicity: The Trump Women Embrace Monochrome at the Inauguration

Melania, Ivanka, Tiffany: The Women of Trump Opt for Simple, Monochrome Styles at the Inauguration

On Monday, as Donald Trump took his oath of office in the Capitol Rotunda as the 47th president, the prominent women in his life made a striking impression with their simple, single-tone outfits.

Standing proudly by him and seated with the family, they braved the cold D.C. weather in stylish, luxurious attire that reflected their status. The Trump women chose muted, monochromatic looks, differing from the soft blue and white gowns they wore during his first inauguration in 2017.

Here’s a closer look at their outfits from the day.

Melania Trump’s Inauguration Day Outfit

The First Lady chose an outfit designed by American designer Adam Lippes for the occasion. She wore a navy skirt and jacket complemented by a wide-brimmed hat that obscured her eyes.

The hat, adorned with a white stripe, sparked discussions online as it shielded her view, marking a departure from her typical fashion choices as a former model.

Ivanka Trump’s Inaugural Attire

Standing to her stepmother’s left during the ceremony, Ivanka Trump, 43, wore a forest green pencil skirt paired with a slender black belt and an asymmetrical wrapped jacket, completed with black heels. Her hair was styled in a low bun, topped off with a matching green beret-like hat. The former adviser also carried a Lady Dior bag.

Ivanka’s 13-year-old daughter, Arabella Rose Kushner, followed suit with a cohesive look in a camel cape coat, matched with a thick belt and coordinated gloves.

Tiffany Trump’s Inaugural Look

Tiffany Trump, 31, donned a floor-length navy blue velvet coat dress. The daughter of Trump and Marla Maples is expecting her first child with her husband, Michael Boulos. She kept her jewelry minimal, which balanced well with her glamorous makeup and lashes while adhering to the family’s minimalist aesthetic.

Did Kai Trump Attend the Inauguration?

Kai Trump, 17, the granddaughter of Trump and daughter of Donald Trump Jr., was seen wearing a muted gray mock turtle neck dress beneath a black coat. Kai made her political debut last July at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, stepping into the limelight on stage.

Lara Trump’s Fashion at the Inauguration

Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of Trump, former Republican National Committee co-chair, and wife to Eric Trump, also opted for a subtle ensemble. She chose a fitted navy blue overcoat with prominent silver buttons paired with black Christian Louboutin heels.

Usha Vance’s Outfit

Although not a member of the Trump family, Usha Vance, wife of Vice President JD Vance, clearly embraced the understated dress code.

The mother of three looked elegant in a monochromatic pale pink coat, complete with a matching scarf, gloves, and luxurious beige suede boots.

At the vice president’s dinner the night before, Vance wore a custom black velvet gown by Oscar de la Renta, featuring asymmetric floral details and a sweetheart neckline, as confirmed by the fashion house. While the gown’s price is undisclosed, similar velvet gowns from Oscar de la Renta are listed between $5,290 and $7,290.
