Behind the Scenes: Cassie’s Makeup Artist Shares Fears Amid Diddy’s Alleged Assault Claims

Cassie’s makeup artist recounts Diddy’s alleged attack on the singer: ‘We were always frightened’

An associate of Cassie Ventura, who has made allegations of abuse against Sean “Diddy” Combs, is revealing insights into the couple’s reportedly abusive relationship.

Mylah Morales, a celebrity makeup artist who collaborated with the “Me & U” singer, claimed she intervened following a violent dispute between Ventura and Combs during the debut of ID Discovery’s “The Fall of Diddy,” a four-part docuseries designed to shed light on the “disturbing allegations of violent behavior and unlawful activities” recently directed at Combs.

Morales stated that the alleged incident took place during the weekend of the Grammy Awards in 2010. While they were at The Beverly Hills Hotel, Morales mentioned that a furious Combs stormed into their room searching for Ventura, prompting the couple to step outside for a quarrel.

The makeup artist observed Ventura looking injured when she finally returned, noting that she had “knots on her head, a bruised eye,” and a “busted lip.” Morales recounted calling a doctor friend to provide medical assistance for Ventura, adding that they refrained from involving the police or seeking hospital care.

“We were intimidated by Puff. We were constantly wary of him,” Morales said. “If we contacted the authorities, what might occur? He’s a very influential figure in the industry, and he can threaten your safety. Many individuals fear him to this day.”

In response to inquiries from “Fall of Diddy” producers, Combs’ representatives asserted: “Mr. Combs has complete faith in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will come out: the allegations against Mr. Combs are entirely fictional.”

Ventura’s lawsuit filed in November 2023 against Combs, which was quickly settled the following day, triggered numerous accusations of sexual assault and physical violence, culminating in Combs being arrested in September 2024 on accusations of racketeering, sex trafficking, and facilitating prostitution.

The Grammy-winning artist has denied all allegations against him and currently remains in custody at the Special Housing Unit in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. His court trial is scheduled for May 5.

Here are some of the key revelations from “The Fall of Diddy.”

Vibe magazine editor claims Diddy threatened her over cover photo

Danyel Smith, former editor-in-chief of Vibe magazine, alleges that Combs threatened her in the late 1990s due to a disagreement regarding his cover shoot for the magazine.

Smith recounted that the incident occurred in the fall of 1997 when Combs insisted on previewing the final images for his Vibe cover. After Smith repeatedly refused his requests, citing company policy, she claimed that during a phone call, Combs ominously stated he “would see me dead in a trunk.”

Although Combs later supposedly apologized for this at the behest of Smith’s lawyer, she mentioned that she had to be accompanied by other Vibe staff when delivering the proofs for Combs’ cover. This was due to claims that Combs had visited the magazine’s office looking for her accompanied by “two tough guys.”

Despite the alleged threat, Smith continued to engage and be “cordial” with Combs: “It’s really hard not to feel complicit. I wish things were different.”

Howard University graduate claims to have witnessed domestic violence

A graduate from Howard University, where Combs also studied, alleged that they observed him assault a female student on campus.

The unnamed alumnus said that the alleged incident took place outside their dorm in 1988 after Combs was seen angrily searching for the female student, even striking a wall with his belt in frustration.

When the female student confronted Combs, the alumnus reported that he began to hit her. Despite their shouting from the dorm window to intervene, Combs’ actions continued at the entrance of a different dormitory.

“Nobody truly came to her aid when we should have,” the Howard alumnus reflected. “It’s crucial to tell that young woman’s story because he was never held accountable.”

Combs was awarded an honorary degree from Howard University in 2014, but this honor was rescinded by the board of trustees in June 2024.

Concert promoter claims Diddy led him on a ‘high-speed chase’ amid East Coast-West Coast rivalry

Concert promoter DeWitt Gilmore alleges that Combs retaliated against him during the prominent East Coast-West Coast hip-hop feud of the mid-1990s. (Gilmore sued Combs and his security team in November for assault and battery relating to the purported 1996 incident.)

In the documentary, Gilmore claims that Combs targeted him after noticing him in a T-shirt stating “Death Row East.” Death Row Records, a West Coast label co-founded by Suge Knight, infamously clashed with Combs’ Bad Boy Records due to the rivalry between their famous artists, 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G.

“He interpreted that T-shirt as an alignment with Suge Knight and Death Row and the West Coast,” Gilmore expressed. “It was like, ‘How dare you support the other side?'”

Gilmore also described how Combs supposedly chased him at high speeds through Manhattan following a tense vehicle exchange. At one point, both he and his companion claimed to have heard gunshots, although the source was indeterminate.

“My entire future could have been erased through your terrorizing behavior,” Gilmore seemed to direct at Combs. “My account is only a fragment of the larger chaos he’s created.”

Shooting victim recalls 1999 nightclub incident: ‘My life was forever altered’

A woman named Natania Griffin, who asserts that Combs shot her during a 1999 nightclub confrontation with fellow rapper Moses “Shyne” Barrow, is reflecting on her traumatic experience.

Griffin described that just before the shooting, she saw Combs and Barrow both reach for their weapons as they exited Club New York. The woman, struck in the face, recounted seeing a “muzzle flash” before experiencing the painful injury to her visage.

“I genuinely believed I was going to die at that moment because I couldn’t comprehend how a person could bleed that much and survive,” said Griffin, breaking down in tears. “I just knew my life had irreversibly changed.”

At the time of the incident, Combs was at the Manhattan club with Jennifer Lopez, and disagreements allegedly escalated into a shooting with Barrow, injuring three individuals, including Griffin. Combs, Lopez, Jones, and Barrow were briefly arrested but only Barrow received a nine-year prison sentence on various weapon possession charges.

Griffin also described experiencing harassment and threats following her decision to speak out about the shooting, stating she had to relocate after noticing “blacked out SUVs” parked near her home. “I was immersed in hip-hop culture,” Griffin explained. “I didn’t deserve this. I was a victim hoping for justice.”

Danity Kane member D. Woods describes Diddy’s ‘verbal abuse’

D. Woods, an actress and singer from Combs’ girl group Danity Kane, spoke out regarding Combs’ legal issues in an interview with ABC News’ Eva Pilgrim that aired on Monday.

“You know, he is often viewed as a hero in our community, and I admit I admired him too,” Woods relayed to Pilgrim. “I feel this moment is where my story, my truth, will finally be heard and genuinely acknowledged.”

Woods, whose association with Combs was showcased in MTV’s “Making the Band 3,” described the work environment as verbally abusive. “He employed various tactics with all of us, whether it was criticism or praise, it was all part of his approach,” she said.

Woods’ experiences working with Combs are set to be explored in future episodes of “The Fall of Diddy.”

Another former Danity Kane member, Dawn Richard, filed a lawsuit against Combs in September 2024, alleging 21 counts, including sexual assault and battery, sex trafficking, gender discrimination, and copyright violations.
