Apple Intelligence is now enabled by default. Here’s how to disable it.

With the latest update of Apple’s operating system, a significant change has occurred: Apple Intelligence is now activated by default.

Previously, users with compatible iPhones, iPads, and Macs needed to choose to use the Apple Intelligence features. However, with the 18.3 update, these features will automatically be turned on for new users and those upgrading who may not have opted in before.

The initial set of Apple Intelligence features, which introduced Apple’s own generative models and improved existing software, was released in October, with additional features becoming available in December for supported devices.

Here’s how to disable Apple Intelligence:

Disabling Apple Intelligence

To turn off Apple Intelligence, go to “Settings” on your device. Then, select “Apple Intelligence & Siri” and switch off the option for “Apple Intelligence.”
