Joel Embiid Injury Update: 76ers Star May Be Close to Returning from Knee Injury
When Joel Embiid is in good health, he stands out not only as the top player for the Philadelphia 76ers but also as one of the finest athletes in the NBA.
Unfortunately, staying healthy has been a challenge for Embiid. His career has been marked by injuries that have frequently interfered with his ability to reach his full capabilities for extended periods.
Currently, Embiid is recovering from a knee injury that has kept him off the court. However, 76ers coach Nick Nurse shared recently that the center has been participating in practice with secondary squads to help him readjust.
Additionally, reporter Ky Carlin from the Sixers Wire spotted Embiid performing handstands following practice on Monday, indicating he is working on his fitness.
When Is Joel Embiid’s Next Game?
Embiid was seen practicing his shooting in Philadelphia prior to the 76ers’ matchup against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. However, he was officially listed as out for the game due to “injury/Illness – Left Knee; Injury Management” in the injury report.
He hasn’t played since the 76ers’ 123-94 win over the Brooklyn Nets on January 4, 2025, where he scored 28 points in just 29 minutes.
