Busch Gardens is launching a Wild Oasis for families. Here’s what’s ahead in this new ‘realm.’
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has revealed exciting updates about what it calls “the most immersive, family-friendly adventure zone in North America.”
Wild Oasis is slated to debut in the Jungala area of the Florida amusement park this spring, following its announcement last fall.
“We’re thrilled to present Wild Oasis – a colorful, rainforest-themed realm featuring remarkable animal habitats, exhilarating attractions, and engaging play areas designed to entertain, educate, and encourage our visitors to appreciate the beauty of nature,” said Jeff Davis, Park President of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, in a press release that shared more details on what to expect.
Here’s what families, especially those with young children, need to know about Wild Oasis.
Will Busch Gardens have a new ride?
Yes! Wild Oasis will introduce an exciting 35-foot drop tower attraction named Tree Top Drop, complete with multimedia effects. “Riders will immerse themselves in thrilling jungle visuals displayed on screens,” Busch Gardens mentioned in a press release on Wednesday. Children must be 38 inches tall alongside an adult or 42 inches tall to ride alone.
Another exciting feature will be Canopy Climb. Not a ride per se, this four-level climbing structure is designed to captivate both youngsters and the young-at-heart, boasting “200 feet of horizontal climbing paths and vertical climbs up to 50 feet high,” according to the park.
Is Busch Gardens suitable for young children?
Absolutely. The park already offers numerous attractions and entertainment options for kids, including the Grand Caravan Carousel and the Phoenix Rising family roller coaster, which debuted last year.
Moreover, it’s one of the largest zoos in North America and holds accreditation from the esteemed Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
What animals can visitors see at Busch Gardens?
Currently, the park is home to 200 different species of animals, like tigers, elephants, and sloths.
When Wild Oasis opens, guests can also look forward to seeing giant anteaters, capybaras, squirrel monkeys, and colorful tropical birds that will be featured in a new multi-species habitat called Habitat Hideaway.
“For those wanting a deeper experience, the Rainforest Quest allows guests to take part in a self-guided educational scavenger hunt that explores the intricate wonders of nature and underscores the connections between various species within the rainforest,” the park explained.
When is Wild Oasis set to open?
A specific opening date remains unannounced, but the park confirms that Wild Oasis will launch in spring. Annual passholders will be the first to enjoy the new area.
Does Busch Gardens in Tampa have a water park?
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay features a splash area named Sesame Street Safari of Fun Splash & Play.
Wild Oasis will introduce another children’s water play zone called Enchanted Falls, featuring a splash pad, spray towers, and fountains.
A sister water park, Adventure Island Tampa Bay, is situated across the street and requires a separate admission ticket.
Do children get free admission to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay?
Like many theme parks, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay permits free entry for all children under three years old.
Additionally, Florida preschoolers aged six and under can acquire a free Preschool Card, enabling them to enjoy complimentary access to both Busch Gardens and Adventure Island throughout 2025. The first visit must occur by the end of February.
