Who is Jack Bech? Background on the Senior Bowl MVP and his late brother Tiger Bech
Jack Bech’s story is so remarkable it could fit right into a Hollywood script.
In the Senior Bowl held in Mobile, Alabama, Bech scored the decisive touchdown for Team American. After making the catch from Seth Henigan, he was overcome with emotion in the end zone as his teammates rushed to congratulate him.
Wearing the number 7 jersey, Bech paid tribute to his brother Martin “Tiger” Bech, a former Princeton football player, who tragically lost his life in the New Orleans truck incident on New Year’s Day. Post-game, Bech celebrated the victory with his parents and was honored with the Senior Bowl MVP title.
“It’s straightforward; my brother is watching over me,” Bech remarked to NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero after the game. “He gave me the strength to perform today. I owe everything to him and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
At 22, Bech led the Horned Frogs in the 2024 season with 1,034 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. His impressive performance at the Senior Bowl may boost his prospects for the upcoming NFL draft.
