After spending five seasons with the Connecticut Sun, DeWanna Bonner, a six-time All-Star, is set to join the Indiana Fever as a free agent, as per various reports.

 

The one-year contract provides a major boost to Fever’s roster, which has already made impressive moves during this offseason. The team had previously re-signed All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell to a supermax deal, brought in forward Natasha Howard, a two-time All-Star and the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year, and acquired guard Sophie Cunningham through a multi-team trade.

Bonner’s choice to sign with the Fever surprised many followers, as lots anticipated she would reunite with the Phoenix Mercury. This expectation was heightened since Bonner played her first ten seasons in Phoenix and her fiancée, Alyssa Thomas, was recently traded to the Mercury from the Sun.
