De’Aaron Fox Joins San Antonio Spurs in Thrilling Three-Team NBA Trade

De’Aaron Fox trades places with San Antonio Spurs in major three-team NBA deal

Less than a day after the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks finalized a significant transaction, the San Antonio Spurs have managed to secure an All-Star player to join their standout rookie.

The Spurs are set to acquire De’Aaron Fox from the Sacramento Kings as part of a three-team trade that also involves the Chicago Bulls sending Zach LaVine to the Kings, according to a source familiar with the situation who requested to remain unnamed because the deal is still pending completion, as reported by YSL News Sports.

With his move to San Antonio, Fox will be joining forces with first-time All-Star Victor Wembanyama, and the duo will aim to help the Spurs secure a playoff berth. Presently, the Spurs hold a 21-25 record and are in 12th place in the Western Conference, just two games behind the Kings for a play-in opportunity. The Spurs have not made the playoffs in the last five seasons. Fox previously played a key role in helping the Kings end their 16-year playoff drought during the 2022-23 season.

In this transaction, the Spurs will also bring in Jordan McLaughlin. Meanwhile, the Kings will receive Sidy Cissoko, three future first-round picks (2025, 2027, and 2031), and three future second-round picks (2025 and two in 2028). The Bulls will acquire Zach Collins, Tre Jones, Kevin Huerter, and a first-round pick in 2025.

On Saturday night, the Lakers traded for Luka Doncic from the Mavericks in a deal involving Anthony Davis and including the Utah Jazz.
