Travis Kelce suggests the influence of “Tayvoodoo” could be affecting Super Bowl 59
If the Kansas City Chiefs are victorious in the Super Bowl, fans of Taylor Swift might claim some of the glory. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce certainly isn’t dismissing that possibility.
Could Tayvoodoo be at work?
Fans have coined the term “Tayvoodoo” to explain how Taylor Swift seems to have an extraordinary impact on various events — from thunderstorms to sports victories. Many are speculating if the pop star may have used her charm when she pretended to throw a football during her Eras Tour this past October at the Caesars Superdome, which happens to be the venue for Sunday’s game in New Orleans.
“We definitely love to make things happen, and you can’t say it’s not real since we’re here, right?” Kelce remarked during a press conference at the stadium on Monday. “Whatever she did, I’m sure it contributed somehow.”
Naturally, social media is having a blast with the idea!
On a recent episode of his podcast “New Heights,” Jason Kelce noted that the Kansas City Chiefs appeared to be on a lucky winning streak, as if some magical force was influencing their games.
“It’s almost like you guys are the ‘Angels in the Outfield,'” the former Philadelphia Eagles center told his brother, Travis Kelce, suggesting something mysterious was at play.
Travis chimed in, saying, “Here you go with this f***ing Tayvoodoo stuff again.” The brothers shared a laugh.
The term “Tayvoodoo” gained popularity during the Eras Tour when unusual events synchronized with certain lyrics, such as lightning striking in time with “Bad Blood” in Nashville or a plane flying down next to the Buenos Aires venue while Swift sang the lyric, “I thought the plane was going down, how’d you turn it right around?”

Throughout the 2023 NFL season, fans speculated that Swift’s presence at 13 games—her favorite number—played a role in the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl. Notably, Super Bowl 58 (5+8=13) featured the Chiefs against the 49ers (4+9=13) on February 11 (2+11=13).
Fans believe Swift made multiple references to Kelce and the Chiefs during the Eras Tour. They deciphered meanings behind her surprise song combinations and noticed her changing the lyrics to “Karma” to highlight the “guy on the Chiefs” on nights when the team emerged victorious. However, Kelce was only able to attend one U.S. Eras Tour performance this year due to his football commitments.
