Sabrina Carpenter Set to Release Dolly Parton Duet on ‘Short n’ Sweet’ Deluxe Edition

Sabrina Carpenter has an exciting surprise for Valentine’s Day.

On Tuesday, the “Espresso” singer revealed that she will launch a deluxe edition of her latest album, “Short n’ Sweet,” on February 14. This new version will include five additional songs, featuring a remix of her popular summer hit “Please Please Please,” which will now be a duet with Dolly Parton.

Among the other new tracks announced are “15 Minutes,” “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder,” “Busy Woman,” and “Bad Reviews.”

The collaboration with Parton seems quite fitting, as Carpenter’s bold use of sexual expression and ’50s pin-up style directly echoes the iconic imagery associated with the country music legend.

Both artists share a talent for clever innuendo and have turned the industry’s focus on their appearances to their own advantage.

In recent years, Parton has collaborated with various younger artists, lending her voice to tracks with stars like Beyoncé on “Tyrant” from “Cowboy Carter,” Pitbull for “Powerful Women,” and a remix of “9 to 5” with Kelly Clarkson.

Parton’s frequent collaborations help maintain her presence in the cultural landscape, continuously introducing her to new fans and confirming her enduring relevance. As a unique artist whose popularity spans multiple generations, her inclusion on “Please Please Please” makes perfect sense given her history with songs celebrating women facing challenges in relationships.

Carpenter’s announcement arrives after an incredible year for her. Following her role as an opener for Taylor Swift on the early leg of the Eras Tour, Carpenter leveraged her growing fame into a successful tour that followed the release of “Short n’ Sweet.”

Her tracks “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” quickly became fan favorites, with her witty lyrics establishing her as a talented singer-songwriter and a bold storyteller.

Last Sunday, her popularity transformed into recognition as she received Grammy Awards for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album, along with nominations for four additional categories.
