Kris Jenner Reflects on Tennis Memories with Robert Kardashian and Erik Menendez Before Tragic Events Unfolded

Kris Jenner Remembers Playing Tennis with Robert Kardashian and Erik Menendez Before Parents’ Murder

Kris Jenner is well-connected with many notable figures in Los Angeles.

During the season premiere of Hulu’s “The Kardashians” on Thursday, Kris shared that she and her former husband, Robert Kardashian Sr., had met Erik Menendez prior to the tragic murder of their parents by Erik and his brother, Lyle Menendez.

The conversation started when Kim Kardashian mentioned her work with Ryan Murphy and his new series titled “Monsters,” which focuses on the Menendez brothers. This prompted Jenner, 69, to disclose her acquaintance with them back in the 1980s.

Kourtney Kardashian Barker sought clarity, asking if Jenner had known the Menendez parents. Jenner then shared that Erik Menendez “used to come over and play tennis with your dad on weekends.”

Robert Kardashian is well-known for representing O.J. Simpson during the trial related to the murder of Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson. The two couples were close friends, and Jenner maintained her friendship with Brown Simpson from the early 1970s until her tragic murder in 1994.

Kardashian, 44, recalled her father discussing the Menendez case and said she was aware of the murders while growing up in Los Angeles as a teenager.

“With what I know now about the system, I view it all differently,” Kardashian explained.

The Menendez brothers have been in the spotlight again due to Murphy’s Netflix series launched last fall, alongside new documentaries about the 1989 killings.

In light of these new shows, viewers, including Kardashian, have begun to reconsider the brothers’ original sentences after allegations of self-defense due to years of abuse by their father have resurfaced. This ongoing dialogue has led Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón to submit a petition to reevaluate the sentences of Erik and Lyle Menendez, opening up the potential for parole for the brothers who are currently serving life sentences.

Kardashian expressed her support for this initiative, calling it a chance to “correct a significant injustice.”

“Your dedication to the truth and fairness is admirable,” she shared with Gascón, attributing the “media’s attention, particularly following Ryan Murphy’s TV series, for highlighting the abuse and wrongs in their case.”

The Skims founder expressed her faith in the justice system’s ability to progress, expressing gratitude for a society that allows for questioning and pursuing justice. She urged her 360 million followers to “always keep questioning.”
