As we prepare to shift from the carefree vibes of “brat summer” to the more subdued “demure fall,” TikTok released its list of the most popular songs and artists that kept everyone entertained during the long summer days, both at home and abroad.

The discussion around this summer’s anthem started earlier than usual when Tommy Richman’s breakout song “Million Dollar Baby” and Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” dropped weeks before the season officially commenced.

Figuring out which songs might claim the title of summer’s unofficial anthem can be challenging, but real contenders need to resonate throughout the summer and embody the very essence of the season.

TikTok simplified the process by ranking the Top 10 Songs of the Summer based on how many times each song was used in user-generated content.

“The past few months have been a remarkable hub for music,” stated TikTok. “With chart-topping country hits, ’80s dance vibes, special performances, and rising female talents across genres like K-pop, hip-hop, and afro-beats, this summer has seen some of the biggest music moments on TikTok.”

TikTok’s “Songs of the Summer” list features not only emerging artists like Jordan Adetunji but also established stars such as Billie Eilish.

“We are thrilled to continue supporting emerging artists globally, while also offering a platform for the biggest stars to connect with their fans,” TikTok emphasized.

Fans who anticipated that Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby” would reach the top of the charts back in May can rejoice, as TikTok placed him in the number one spot.

In second place is Tinashe with “Nasty,” a track that had fans attempting to replicate Tinashe’s dance moves in over 10 million videos, according to TikTok. Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” and Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” landed in fifth and sixth positions, respectively.

GloRilla’s collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion and Kendrick Lamar also made the list, along with Jordan Adetunji, Lay Bankz, ian, and Blood Orange ranked 10th, seventh, fourth, and third, respectively.
