Chipotle launches its IQ test again, with over $1 million in free burrito giveaways and BOGO offers
Chipotle has revived its well-liked trivia game, allowing Chipotle Rewards members to win buy-one-get-one food offers and a chance for free burritos for an entire year, the company shared on Monday.
The game, named Chipotle IQ, quizzes customers on their knowledge regarding Chipotle’s ingredients, food quality, culinary methods, and more, according to a statement from the restaurant chain. This marks the fifth year of this event.
Chris Brandt, Chipotle’s chief brand officer, stated in the release, “With four million game plays since we launched, it’s clear there’s a demand for competition and free burritos. For those seeking an advantage, here’s a tip: We use 48 avocados in each batch of our hand-mashed guacamole.”
How to secure free burritos and BOGO deals with Chipotle IQ
Chipotle outlines the game rules as follows:
- From Tuesday, August 20 at 9:01 a.m. ET to Thursday, August 22 at 11:59 p.m. ET, the company will distribute 5,000 BOGO codes every hour to the first Chipotle Rewards members who achieve a perfect score of 10 out of 10 on Chipotle IQ. Participants may play once daily.
- A flawless score will grant access to an additional credit question, and responding correctly will enter players for a chance to win one of 50 free burrito-for-a-year prizes.
The BOGO codes provide customers one complimentary regular menu entrée item with the purchase of a regular menu entrée item at full price when ordered either in-store, via the Chipotle mobile app, or online.
A “regular menu entrée item” includes a burrito, burrito bowl, three tacos, a quesadilla, or a salad, based on the news release; it does not cover kids’ meals, 3-point meals, or single tacos.
