Who has performed at the DNC? Lil Jon, Patti LaBelle, Stevie Wonder, and more entertain the crowd
This summer, various musicians have taken the stage in Milwaukee and Chicago to perform and offer their political endorsements during the Republican and Democratic national conventions.
At the RNC last month, Lee Greenwood performed “God Bless The USA” as Donald Trump made his entrance, and Kid Rock introduced him. Meanwhile, at the DNC in Chicago, notable artists like Stevie Wonder, Patti LaBelle, and Common have showcased their talents.
The DNC’s roll call on Tuesday featured a musical celebration from different states, highlighted by Lil Jon’s unexpected performance of “Turn Down for What” and a politically-themed remix of “Get Low.”
Both conventions, aimed at selecting the presidential candidates for their respective parties, offered unique musical experiences through their live acts and curated playlists. Below is a summary of the performers at both the DNC and RNC.
John Legend, Pink, and Maren Morris to perform at the DNC
Reports from CNN and Rolling Stone indicate that John Legend will introduce vice presidential nominee Tim Walz on Wednesday, paying homage to the iconic Prince, a legendary musician from Minnesota.
Additionally, CNN and Deadline announce that Pink will headline the last day of the DNC, where Vice President Kamala Harris will deliver her speech accepting the nomination.
Maren Morris, originally from the country music scene, has confirmed her performance ahead of Walz’s address on Wednesday, expressing her excitement about the event.
“I feel privileged to perform at the Democratic National Convention for the first time. This is a chance for us to unite and hear sensible plans for women’s and LGBTQ rights,” she said in a statement to The Tennessean, a member of the YSL News Network. “We can draw inspiration from people’s stories and find a safe way forward for our future generations.”

Although James Taylor was set to perform on Tuesday, his act was canceled due to scheduling conflicts.
In an Instagram post, Taylor expressed disappointment, noting, “As the evening progressed, it became apparent that there wouldn’t be time for our ‘You’ve Got a Friend’ with cello and voices. Perhaps the organizers were taken by surprise by the enthusiastic response from the audience at the United Center. Anyway, I apologize for not being able to perform.”
RNC performers include: Kid Rock
On the third day of the RNC, Kid Rock welcomed Trump to the stage with a rendition of “American Bad Ass” that featured lyrics honoring the former president.
During his speech, Trump remarked, “He has become a good friend over the past decade and is truly beloved by everyone.”

RNC performers: Chris Janson
Country star Chris Janson, returning to the RNC after his 2016 performance, took to the stage on the inaugural night to sing “All American Guy.”
