The Los Angeles Rams have suffered a setback on their offensive line just weeks before the regular season kicks off.

Offensive tackle Alaric Jackson has received a suspension without pay for the first two games of the regular season due to a breach of the NFL’s personal conduct policy, the league declared on Friday.

Last season, Jackson played in 15 games as a starting tackle for the Rams. Although he is expected to start again this season, he will miss the initial two games.

The Rams will face the Detroit Lions and the Arizona Cardinals away from home in their first two matchups. Jackson will be eligible to return following the Rams’ second game against Arizona.

The Rams are set to play the San Francisco 49ers at home in Week 3.

Suspension for Zay Jones of Arizona Cardinals

Wide receiver Zay Jones of the Arizona Cardinals will miss the opening of the regular season.

The NFL revealed on Friday that Jones is suspended for five games due to his violation of the league’s personal conduct policy.

Jones faced arrest in November on charges of domestic battery, which were later dropped by a Florida state attorney’s office in March. The NFL conducted its own investigation and ultimately decided on a five-game suspension for the receiver.

Jones played for the Jacksonville Jaguars over the past two seasons before joining the Cardinals in May, where he is expected to strengthen their receiving group.

He will be eligible to return on October 7, right after the Cardinals’ Week 5 game against the 49ers.

J.C. Jackson Suspended as Free Agent

Free agent cornerback J.C. Jackson is suspended for the first game of the regular season also due to a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy. He is permitted to sign with any team and take part in preseason activities.

The New England Patriots released Jackson earlier in March.
