Reality TV Judge Mathis Faces Divorce After 39 Years of Marriage to Linda

Linda Mathis, wife of Judge Mathis, initiates divorce proceedings after 39 years of marriage

Judge Greg Mathis and his spouse, Linda Mathis, are set to divorce.

As per court filings accessed by E! News and Today, Linda filed for divorce on Thursday. The couple, who reside in Los Angeles and have been married for nearly 40 years, previously appeared together with their family on the 2022 E! reality show “Mathis Family Matters,” giving fans a glimpse into Judge Mathis’s life outside the courtroom.

They tied the knot in 1985 and share four adult children: Jade, 39, Camara, 36, Greg Jr., 35, and Amir, 34.

In 2022, Judge Mathis’ long-running courtroom show “Judge Mathis” was cancelled, alongside the courtroom series “The People’s Court,” hosted by Marilyn Milian.

These then-syndicated programs from Warner Bros. feature Mathis and Milian presiding over hearings involving disputes resolved through binding arbitration in a courtroom setup. After a brief hiatus, the court returned for the popular TV star last year.

Mathis, known for hosting the enduring courtroom drama “Judge Mathis,” has been announced as the host for the forthcoming series “Mathis Court with Judge Mathis,” as stated in a press release from Allen Media Group.

“Judge Greg Mathis is an exceptional, charismatic, and iconic host on television, and we have great confidence that our eighth new court series featuring Judge Mathis will thrive for many years,” said Byron Allen, CEO of Allen Media Group.

Mathis, who previously served as a District Court judge in Michigan, first debuted in the pilot episode back in 1998, according to IMDb. Two decades later, in 2018, the series won a Daytime Emmy for excellence in court programming.

The E! reality series highlighted the couple’s adventures and challenges in managing their family dynamic, featuring their children and grandchildren.
