What prompted Kevin Costner’s departure from ‘Yellowstone’?

Grimes, who is also pursuing a successful career in country music, recognized Costner’s decision to leave “Yellowstone” after a rift related to his choice to develop, direct, and act in the Western film series “Horizon: An American Saga,” the second part of which was delayed following poor box office performance for the first film.

“It’s unfortunate if it changed anything about how (“Yellowstone”) was meant to progress,” Grimes told The Independent in April. “I understand he was busy with his films that were personal projects. At some point, you have to pursue what matters to you.”

Kelsey Asbille honored the final days of filming “Yellowstone” by sharing a photo of the iconic ranch through her rear-view mirror on Instagram last week, captioning it, “To all our Y family past and present, I will love you forever.”
