Leah Remini announces separation from husband Angelo Pagán after 21 years
Leah Remini and Angelo Pagán have decided to part ways after 28 years together.
The couple shared their decision to separate in a joint post on Instagram on Thursday, stating that they are splitting “after 28 years together and 21 years of marriage.”
They explained this choice followed considerable reflection, expressing that while divorce is difficult, they are pursuing it with a hopeful perspective, recognizing it as the best path for both of them. “We are proud of how we have navigated this together,” they mentioned.
They further elaborated, saying: “The truth is, we’ve been best friends for a long time. We still celebrate holidays together, enjoy our favorite TV shows together, and gather as a family.”
In their post, they referred to their marriage as a “success” and expressed eagerness to create more cherished memories—albeit in a new context.
They concluded, stating, “A marriage that has lasted this long and produced countless beautiful memories, especially while raising our wonderful daughter, is certainly worth celebrating.”
The couple mentioned in their Instagram message that they chose to share their experience publicly to assist other couples going through similar changes.
They stated, “We hope that by sharing our story, more people will find diverse relationship narratives that help them feel less isolated in navigating the transitions many couples face each year.”
Leah Remini is widely recognized for her role in the long-running CBS sitcom “The King of Queens,” where she starred for nine seasons alongside Kevin James, known for “Paul Blart: Mall Cop.” She is also noted for her outspoken criticism of Scientology, a church she once belonged to, particularly through her work on the A&E documentary series “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath,” which earned her two Emmy Awards. Pagán is an actor and has made guest appearances on “The King of Queens.”
This news follows closely on the heels of Remini’s long-time friend Jennifer Lopez filing for divorce just last week. On August 20, JLo, 55, submitted her divorce papers for Ben Affleck, 52, in Los Angeles Superior Court, according to documents obtained by YSL News. This date marked the second anniversary of the couple’s wedding celebration in Georgia.
