Adele announces an ‘incredibly long’ music break following her Las Vegas residency
Adele expressed she will greatly miss her fans but feels a long break from music is necessary after ending her residency in Las Vegas later this year.
The talented artist, known for “Make You Feel My Love,” wrapped up her Munich residency on Saturday. After her 10th performance in Munich, she informed her fans that they wouldn’t hear from her after the conclusion of her “Weekends With Adele” shows in Las Vegas this fall.
“I’ve found performing so fulfilling, it has been three years, the longest I’ve done and probably will ever do. I’ve got 10 shows remaining in my Las Vegas residency but after that, I won’t see you for a very long time, and I will keep you close in my heart during that time,” shared the 36-year-old about her upcoming long hiatus.
“I’ll remember these shows and all the performances I’ve done over the last three years as precious memories to cherish. It’s been incredible,” Adele conveyed through a TikTok video recorded at the concert. “But now, I just need some time to rest.”
While visibly emotional during her speech, she added, “I’ve spent the last seven years creating a new life for myself, and I want to fully embrace it now. I’ll miss you all so much.”
The Grammy-winning artist finished her Munich residency after starting on August 2, performing at the open-air venue Messe München. This marked her first performance in “mainland Europe” since 2016, as per the residency’s website.
Back in the U.S., the artist will present the final 10 shows of her Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from October 25 to November 23.
Her residency, which started in November 2022, will total 100 performances, despite a few setbacks and rescheduled shows.
This is not the first instance where fans have heard Adele express her intent to take a break from performing and producing new music.
In a July interview with the German outlet ZDF, Adele mentioned her plans to concentrate on “different creative projects.”
“I don’t have any intentions for new music right now,” she revealed to the outlet. “I desire a significant break after this, and I think I want to explore other creative avenues, even if just for a little while.”
