McFlurry Takes a Twist: Introducing Mini Versions and Eco-Friendly Lids at McDonald’s

McDonald’s Introduces Mini McFlurry and Eco-Friendly Lids

Beginning next week, McDonald’s will launch the Mini McFlurry, a smaller version of its popular dessert.

In addition, the fast-food chain is enhancing its sustainability efforts by eliminating plastic lids from McFlurry cups.

According to the company, “Both the Mini and Regular McFlurry will be served in a new eco-friendly four-flap cup, which aims to minimize waste and supports our target of using 100% renewable, recycled, or certified materials for primary packaging by the end of 2025.” They continued, “Whether you love classic Oreo, are a fan of M&M’S, or prefer our limited-time flavors, the Mini McFlurry offers another delightful way to enjoy your favorite treat.”

The smaller McFlurry will be available at select locations nationwide for a limited period.

Eco-Friendly Cups Now Internationally Available at McDonald’s

McDonald’s reports that the new eco-friendly cups are already in use at some international locations in Canada and Indonesia.

Michael Gonda, the Chief Impact Officer for North America, stated, “Updates like these are significant. Not only do they provide a fun new way for fans in the U.S. to enjoy the McFlurry, but they also bring us closer to achieving our waste and packaging goals.”

What Are the Limited-Time McFlurry Flavors at McDonald’s?

Among the special McFlurry flavors available for a limited time is the Kit Kat Banana Split, which features vanilla soft serve blended with banana and strawberry clusters, along with crunchy Kit Kat wafer pieces.

The McFlurry was introduced just months after McDonald’s launched the Grandma McFlurry, a dessert inspired by the sweet treats from childhood. This dessert mixes “delicious syrup and chopped candy bits” with vanilla soft serve, as described by the company.
