New Research Shows Plugged Wells and Decreased Injection Rates Diminish Induced Earthquake Occurrences in Oklahoma

Wastewater injection resulting from oil and gas production in Oklahoma caused a dramatic rise in seismic activity in the state between 2009 and 2015. Tragic Wedding Day Turns Into Nightmare as Groom Faces Charges for Running Over Groomsman, Bride Taken Into Custody

Groom in Michigan accused of fatal hit-and-run involving groomsman; bride also arrested

James Shirah, 22, allegedly killed his groomsman, Terry Taylor, 29, by hitting him with an SUV; Shirah’s wife, Savahna Collier, 21, faces charges as an accessory, according to Flint, Michigan officials.

A couple in Michigan has been taken into custody after claims surfaced that the groom deliberately struck his groomsman with an SUV, resulting in the groomsman’s death following their wedding ceremony.

Flint police responded to reports of a pedestrian-involved accident around 8 p.m. on August 30, as stated in a post on the department’s Facebook page.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Terry Lewis Taylor Jr., 29, severely injured. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later declared dead.

Investigations conducted by the Flint Police Department indicated that Taylor had recently attended a wedding as a groomsman. After the wedding, a dispute occurred, which ultimately led to him being deliberately struck by an SUV.

Authorities identified the driver as 22-year-old James Shirah, the groom, and he has been charged with second-degree murder.

Shirah’s wife, 21-year-old Savahna Collier, was also arrested for allegedly being an accessory to the crime; her bond has been set at $4,000.

A cherished father

Taylor’s obituary celebrated him as a devoted father and loyal friend.

It described him as having a lifelong passion for fishing, biking, and riding four-wheelers. “Terry adored his music, his children, family, friends, his dog Kodiak, and good food. He always valued having clean teeth and wearing cologne,” it read.

He is survived by his own fiancée, three children, and another child on the way. A GoFundMe campaign launched by his fiancée also highlighted his loving nature.

“We (his family and I) aim to provide him the memorial he wished for and truly deserves. He was an extraordinary individual, loved by many. This loss was entirely unexpected and has impacted many lives,” the fundraising effort stated.
