As summer fades away, dogs nationwide enjoy splashing around: Check out adorable doggy dip day photos

Attention: Prepare for an overload of cuteness!

As the summer season wraps up and public swimming pools prepare to close, dogs and pets are getting their final opportunity to have some fun in the water.

Scores of dogs, from Iowa to Washington, participated in special “doggy dip days” at pools before the water is emptied for the season. In Spokane, Washington, over 200 dogs joined the “Doggie Dip” event at Liberty Pool, as reported by Josh Morrisey from Spokane Parks and Recreation to YSL News. Meanwhile, the “Paws for a Dip” event in Thornton, Colorado, saw participation from 286 dogs, according to Renee Dodson from Thornton Parks, Recreation, and Community Programs.

At Boone Municipal Pool in Iowa, 119 dogs and one pig joined the festivities during their annual dog swim day, as mentioned in a Facebook post by the pool. While many doggy dip events were free, events like the “Puppy Plunge” in Kearny, Nebraska, had a nominal fee to support the local animal shelter and dog park.
