Puka Nacua exits Los Angeles Rams’ match against Detroit Lions due to knee injury
Puka Nacua, wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, did not play in the second half of the team’s overtime defeat to the Detroit Lions, which ended 26-20, due to a knee injury.
Nacua was seen limping off the field after making a sliding catch during a third-down play in the first half. He got up slowly and limped to the sideline, where the training staff assessed him. The broadcast captured him attempting to run while the Lions were on offense. Although Nacua briefly returned for the Rams’ next possession, he was unable to continue and was deemed out for the remainder of the game at halftime.
Post-game, Rams head coach Sean McVay mentioned he didn’t have further updates on Nacua’s condition.
Earlier this season, Nacua experienced a significant knee issue that caused him to miss a lot of training camp, but he returned to practice on August 26 and was fully participating in practice leading up to Week 1. McVay had expressed confidence, stating, “He’ll be ready to roll.”
Last season, Nacua broke rookie records with 105 receptions and 1,486 receiving yards after being drafted in the fifth round from BYU.
