Stars Align: Ella Emhoff, Mindy Kaling, and Suni Lee Attend Tory Burch NYFW Show
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — It’s easy to confuse the Tory Burch fashion show with either the Olympics or the Democratic National Convention when you see who’s in the front row.
Among the celebrities enjoying a prime view were Ella Emhoff, stepdaughter of Vice President Kamala Harris, actress and DNC host Mindy Kaling, and Suni Lee, the Olympic bronze medalist in gymnastics.
Emhoff dazzled in a blue and white dress featuring puffed sleeves, complementing her look with a blue handbag and glasses. She posed for pictures and engaged in lively conversation with Kaling, who wore a sparkling taupe coat over a cream striped shirt and brown trousers. The two women matched in shoes and were both key figures at the Democratic convention in August. Notably, Emhoff brought along a stylish portable fan, a hot accessory as the crowd settled in.
Lee made her entrance just in time for the show, wearing a chic cream mini dress paired with coordinating accessories.
The crowd was also graced by an array of stars including Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Kiki Layne, Maude Apatow, Joey King, and Lola Tung, alongside singer YuQi. Fans of “Love Island USA” were thrilled to see Serena Page in attendance as well.
When King arrived, she received a warm hug from Williams, as they shared smiles and chatted enthusiastically.
Williams and Turner-Smith were seen chatting and trying to cool off with their show notes, which included Burch’s insight that the current collection was inspired by “the harmony of movement and form” as well as “the spirit of sport: strength, elegance, precision, and freedom.”
The sporty vibe at the show was intentional, with bleacher-style seating and a runway that resembled a swimming pool, carefully constructed tile by tile in the spacious venue at The Refinery in Brooklyn. The floor showcased blue-green tiles reached up to the walls, accented by a red tile line, creating an immersive pool-like environment.
Currently, Burch is experiencing a creative resurgence,
Tory Burch has made a strong impression in recent seasons with collections that embody a fashionable and edgy spirit, moving away from the typical flats and bags that the brand is known for.
For her spring/summer collection, Burch has embraced playful draping of lightweight fabrics, creating flowy chiffon skirts and tiered dresses across various lengths. The sheer tops remain a key staple for the brand. This fall, the standout coats have been transformed into stylish jackets featuring deep navy and wine hues. The sporty theme was further echoed by the swim team-inspired outfits showcased on the runway, combining traditional one-piece bodysuits with fashionable trousers resembling sweatpants.
