Free domestic flights in Japan? Japan Airlines makes it happen for international travelers
For those planning a trip to Japan, there’s good news: Japan Airlines has launched an enticing promotion that can save travelers a bit of money.
The airline is providing complimentary domestic flights to travelers who book an international flight to Japan, as announced in a recent press release. This deal, aimed at enhancing the “travel experience” across Japan, started on September 10.
To be eligible for this promotion, customers need to reserve both an international flight with JAL and a domestic flight in the same booking.
Japan Airlines operates in 64 domestic airports, offering the opportunity to visit popular spots like the sake breweries in Niigata, the tropical-like beaches in Okinawa, and the 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites located in Kyoto.
For U.S. travelers, the usual $100 stopover fee applies if they linger at their initial Japanese stop for more than 24 hours. However, this fee does not apply to visitors from Thailand, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, and Taiwan.
