‘That will be it’: Trump shares decision on a presidential run in 2028
Donald Trump has stated that 2024 will be his final campaign for presidency.
In a recent interview on the program Full Measure, the former president and Republican candidate announced that he will not pursue another presidential run in 2028 if he loses the upcoming election in November.
“No, I don’t,” Trump replied when questioned by host Sharyl Attkisson about the possibility of a fourth presidential run. “I think that will be it. I don’t see that happening at all.”
Trump’s political journey began with his victory over Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State, in the 2016 election. He then lost the 2020 election but is now competing against Vice President Kamala Harris to reclaim the presidency.
By November 2028, Trump would be 82 years old.
The issue of age has been a key factor in the current presidential campaign, as Trump, now 78, was set to run against President Joe Biden, who is 81. However, Biden withdrew from the race in July after concerns were raised by other Democrats regarding his age and competency.
