Kamala Harris gains ground in presidential betting odds following post-debate surveys
Vice President Kamala Harris has improved or maintained her position in betting odds for the 2024 Presidential election.
Despite U.S. bookmakers not being allowed to take action, the odds have shifted in Harris’ favor after the initial debate against former President Donald Trump.
Recent polling backs this slight lead, with a YSL News/Suffolk University survey conducted after the debate indicating Harris ahead 49%-46% in the crucial state of Pennsylvania.
Harris increased her lead in the three offshore betting sites regularly monitored by YSL News, maintaining odds of -125 to even at the U.K. bookmaker Bet365.
This shift among Democratic supporters comes as Trump ruled out participating in any more debates with Harris following his significant loss in Philadelphia.

How This Election Compares to Previous Ones
Harris has the slimmest lead over Trump of any recent Democratic nominee at the 50 and 75 days-until-election points.
At the 50-day mark, Harris was at -110 compared to Trump’s +116 at the U.K. bookmaker Betfair Exchange. In contrast, Biden had -116 odds at that same time in 2020, while Trump had longer odds at +132.
The odds for the last three elections at the 50-day mark were:
2024
- Harris: -110
- Trump: +116
2020
- Biden: -116
- Trump: +132
2016
- Clinton: -182
- Trump: +210
At 75 days before the election, Harris’ position was tighter when compared to her predecessors. Hillary Clinton had a significant -323 to +370 advantage over Trump at Betfair. Although Trump won the 2016 election, he lost the popular vote, making it the second time a betting underdog claimed the presidency.

- Harris: -102
- Trump: +110
2020
