When is the fight between Alycia Baumgardner and Delfine Persoon? Walk-in time for the main event
The World Boxing Council (WBC) Super Featherweight title will be contested as Alycia Baumgardner (15-1, 7 KOs) defends her title against seasoned boxer Delfine Persoon (48-3, 19 KOs) in Atlanta this Friday.
This will be Baumgardner’s first fight since July 15, 2023, where she retained her undisputed world super featherweight title against Christina Linardatou by unanimous decision. Following that bout, it came to light that Baumgardner had tested positive for two prohibited substances: mesterolone and methenolone acetate metabolites.
After a thorough investigation, the WBC concluded in January that Baumgardner did not intentionally use banned substances for the purpose of enhancing her performance, allowing her to proceed with the fight on Friday.
In the other corner, Baumgardner faces Delfine Persoon, a 39-year-old seasoned fighter with over 50 matches under her belt. Persoon previously held the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Lightweight title in 2012 and the WBC Lightweight title from 2014 to 2019.
