Goldie Hawn Praises Daughter Kate Hudson’s Music Journey: ‘She Has Talent’
The Hudson family is fully behind Kate Hudson as she embarks on her new singing career.
Kate’s loved ones — her mother Goldie Hawn, stepfather Kurt Russell, and brother Oliver Hudson — showed their support for her musical endeavor at Hawn’s Love-In Gala in Beverly Hills, California, on Friday.
Famous for her roles in films like “Almost Famous,” “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” and “Bride Wars,” Hudson launched her first album, “Glorious,” in May. This 12-track record includes collaborations with Linda Perry, the lead singer of 4 Non Blondes, and Hudson’s fiancé, Danny Fujikawa. Upon its release, “Glorious” reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart.
“Isn’t it wonderful?” Hawn remarked about Hudson’s music career in a recent interview with Us Weekly published today. “She has achieved success, but more importantly, she is talented. She knows how to sing. She has real talent.”
Hudson performed at Hawn’s gala, delivering a mix of cover songs, including the classic show tune “The Lady is a Tramp,” along with songs from her album “Glorious.”
Kurt Russell and Oliver Hudson Celebrate ‘Inspirational’ Kate Hudson
Kurt Russell, Hawn’s long-term partner, expressed to Us Weekly how proud he is of Hudson for embracing her music career.
“She has always had this desire,” Russell noted. “But what I admire is her decision to say, ‘I’m going to do this,’ spending her own money and pursuing her passion. And she’s talented at it!”
Kate’s brother Oliver echoed the praise, calling her “an inspirational and fearless person.” He recalled, “For Kate, singing was one challenge that made her shy. She decided, ‘To heck with it! I’m going to take the risk and share my voice with the world.’ That’s truly inspirational since it’s a leap of faith.”
Kate Hudson Shares Her Passion for Music: ‘It Was My First Love’
In a May interview on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Hudson discussed her journey into music.
“Music has always been a part of my life, it was my first true love. I’ve been writing music forever,” Hudson shared with Fallon. “I thought it was personal only until the pandemic hit. Then it occurred to me that not sharing it would be a regret.”
In another conversation with “CBS Sunday Morning,” Hudson candidly admitted that she had been an amateur songwriter for much of her life but began crafting songs for “Glorious” two years ago. She shared, “I wasn’t ready for this until now. I think I’m finally over worrying about others’ opinions. The timing just feels right. I’m finally doing this for myself.”
Goldie Hawn Shares Relationship Wisdom with Kurt Russell
During an interview with E! News at the Love-In Gala, Hawn revealed some insights on maintaining a long-lasting relationship with Russell.
“Good sex is essential,” Hawn expressed to the media. “It’s a key element that fosters connection and a sense of belonging. Couples with healthy sexual lives tend to stay together longer. This is due not only to the physical act but also to the intimacy and warmth it generates.”
Having been in a relationship with Russell since 1983, Hawn emphasized the need for partners to retain their individuality.
“Remember, you and your partner are distinct individuals,” Hawn remarked. “You may not always share the same thoughts. It’s important to embrace that difference. Ask yourselves: Are we enjoying ourselves? Do we laugh together? We don’t need to share every single aspect of our lives.”
“People often set high expectations for relationships, but it’s fundamental to genuinely like each other,” she concluded.
