Boo Buckets return: McDonald’s Happy Meals celebrate fall

Halloween is just around the corner with the return of McDonald’s Boo Buckets, temporarily replacing the classic Happy Meal box each fall.

Halloween is officially making its way to McDonald’s as the Boo Buckets are set to return.

A beloved choice among customers, the Monster Boo Buckets will accompany Happy Meals and are perfect for trick-or-treating too. McDonald’s will launch Boo Buckets on October 15 for a limited time. This year, a new blue color will be introduced, replacing the purple buckets from last year.

Each bucket comes with stickers, allowing kids to personalize them. This marks the third year in a row that McDonald’s has offered these seasonal items, which they first reintroduced in 2022 after a long hiatus since 2016. Originally, these decorative plastic buckets were sold by McDonald’s starting in 1986 and have come back occasionally since.

How can you get a McDonald’s Boo Bucket?

The release of Monster Boo Buckets begins on Tuesday, October 15. These will take the place of the traditional Happy Meal box while supplies last.

Pricing for Boo Buckets varies by location, as it is set by each individual restaurant, according to McDonald’s. Customers can place orders for their favorite Happy Meal items either in-store or through the app. The Happy Meals offer three entrĆ©e options: a hamburger (with optional cheese), or 4-piece or 6-piece Chicken McNuggets. Each meal includes a choice of fries or apple slices and a drink.

What colors will the Boo Buckets feature this year?

This year, McDonald’s is refreshing the color palette of its Boo Buckets. The new blue buckets will join white, orange, and green options, replacing the purple buckets from the previous year.

Last yearā€™s Boo Buckets featured classic monster designs, such as Monster, Skeleton, Mummy, and Vampire. In contrast, this year’s buckets are more abstract, allowing children to customize them using the included stickers.
