The closure list has expanded to include an additional 344 Big Lots stores.

About 50 more Big Lots stores are scheduled to shut down nationwide as the retailer moves forward with its bankruptcy proceedings.

The chain, which entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September, is planning to close over 340 locations. Some closures may have already taken place, with more than 50 stores disappearing from the company’s online presence since July 2.

These store closures are part of an agreement to sell to an affiliate of Nexus Capital Management LP, as outlined in a Big Lots press release. The company is also seeking court approval to continue paying its employees, providing benefits, and compensating critical suppliers to maintain regular operations.
