Following a thrilling win for Milwaukee in Game 2, the Brewers face the New York Mets tonight in a pivotal wild-card series finale. The victor will advance to compete against the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Division Series.
When the Brewers were just six outs away from being eliminated, rookie sensation Jackson Chourio, just 20 years old, leveled the score in the eighth inning with his second home run of the night. Garrett Mitchell then followed with a two-run homer, leading the Brewers to a 5-3 victory.
On the mound for the Brewers is rookie Tobias Myers (9-6, 3.00 ERA), while veteran lefty Jose Quintana (10-10, 3.75 ERA) gets the start for the Mets in this do-or-die Game 3.

Still scoreless after three innings
As we enter the fourth inning of this crucial Game 3, neither the Mets nor the Brewers have managed to score. Milwaukee’s Tobias Myers has given up two hits while striking out three batters. On the other side, New York’s Jose Quintana has also recorded three strikeouts.
The teams are a combined 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position through the first three innings.
Quintana escapes potential trouble after Chourio’s hit
After hitting two home runs on Wednesday, Jackson Chourio started the first inning with a single. However, Mets’ lefty Jose Quintana managed to strike out Blake Perkins, get William Contreras to ground out, and force Willy Adames into an infield pop-up, leaving Chourio stranded on second base.
Game 3 has begun in Milwaukee
In the top of the first, Brewers pitcher Tobias Myers successfully managed to navigate around a leadoff double from Francisco Lindor. He struck out Mark Vientos and Brandon Nimmo before getting Pete Alonso to fly out to center field.
A 26-year-old rookie, Myers ended the regular season with a respectable 3.00 ERA across 138 innings pitched.
