Historic Fan Votes Propel Anna Delvey’s Elimination on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Anna Delvey elimination episode attracted record fan votes

Many fans of “Dancing With the Stars” are still trying to understand the early exits of Tori Spelling, known for “90210,” and the notorious faux German heiress Anna Delvey. However, the episode made history with an unprecedented number of viewer votes.

On September 24th, the episode received over 14 million votes, marking the highest for any episode in the show’s history, as reported by ABC.

The series is currently in its 33rd season and has experienced strong viewership numbers.

According to a press release from ABC, the season premiere on September 17 attracted nearly 5 million viewers, securing the top spot in total viewers as well as among adults aged 18-49, based on Nielsen ratings. This represents a 4% increase compared to last year’s premiere, which had 4.78 million viewers.

The show remains the top live-watched reality series on both broadcast and cable among its target demographic.

The discussion continues regarding the request for a vote recount that Spelling’s manager playfully made after her elimination. On her podcast “Misspelling,” Spelling’s manager, Ruthanne Secunda, referred to the elimination as an “outrage” and humorously claimed she would contact “60 Minutes” for an investigation.

Rosie Perez and Gene Simmons to guest judge on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

“DWTS” made its return on Monday after a two-week break for “Soul Train Night,” featuring Rosie Perez, known for films like “Do the Right Thing” and “White Men Can’t Jump,” as a guest judge.

The 60-year-old actress was a fitting choice, having started her career dancing on the iconic “Soul Train” variety show back in the 1980s.

The two-hour episode will soon be followed by another elimination episode on Tuesday, featuring KISS vocalist and bassist Gene Simmons as a guest judge for “Hair Metal Night.”
