Will Smith Hits Home Run, Dodgers Go Up 5-0
In the top of the third inning, Dodgers catcher Will Smith blasted a two-run home run off Bryan Hoeing, bringing in Max Muncy who had started the inning with a double. The Dodgers now lead 5-0, having scored in all three of their at-bats so far.
Dodgers Extend Lead to 3-0 in Second Inning
During the second inning, Shohei Ohtani connected for a two-out RBI single that scored Gavin Lux, prompting the Padres to replace starter Dylan Cease with Bryan Hoeing. On Hoeing’s very first pitch, Mookie Betts hit another RBI single, pushing the Dodgers’ lead to 3-0.

Mookie Betts made an impactful start by hitting a home run in the first inning, taking Dylan Cease deep to center field, which put the Dodgers ahead 1-0 early.
